Amy and her husband, Jerry are a proud military family. Together, they have four daughters and three grandchildren. Amy graduated alongside her middle daughter with a degree in nursing in 2014 and then pursued a Bachelor of Science in Health Service Management with a Minor in Business at East Carolina University. Her husband, Jerry faithfully served his country and retired from the United States Marine Corps in 2004. He has a Master of Science in Leadership from Boston University and a Bachelor of Science in Aviation Management from Southern Illinois University. He is employed by Bell Helicopter as a Senior Field Service Representative for H-1 Upgrade Helicopter Program.
